Describing FORM: What is the specific communicative strategy? Where is it found?
Even/Hard textures can be perceived as cold, threatening and rigid, whereas even/soft textures can appear soft and comfortable. The even pattern of the chainmail gives a very abrasive feeling, as if each and every one could draw blood, while the uneven icy patterns on his face feel and look cold and sharp, hard as nails.
Describing Content: What does it communicate?
While the Night Kings arms are wide open, nothing about his presence is welcoming. Quite the opposite, challenging even. His regalia is not supposed to look comforting, nor is his presence. There is a strong sense of doom displayed here.
