A focal point is the center of interest; it is what catches our eye and holds our attention. When one object or area is isolated from the rest, a focal paint by isolation is created.
The first thing our eyes are drawn to in this scene is the bright light and water in the center of the cave.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
Focal point by isolation is easily recognized as the isolated subject is quickly noticed. In this picture, the bright white center catches our eye since it is placed amidst a dark cave. The swirling light at the center adds to this, giving an ominous feel as though some mysterious ritual were taking place.
