PRINCIPLE—Motion: Kinesthetic Empathy
Describing FORM: What is the specific communicative strategy? Where is it found?
Kinesthetic Empathy is an unconscious reaction we feel in our body; we feel as well as see the action.
This motion is felt and seen in one of the characters suspend in mid-air due to being at the apex of a jump.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
As seen below, the character on the left is in mid-air with his legs and arms scrunched upward. Typically, this sort of motion and position denote a jump which can create a sense of surprise, excitement, joy, or even fear. The one here seems to give the feeling of excitement and surprise due to the dark background.
