PRINCIPLE - RHYTHM: ALTERNATING REPETITION
Describing form: what is the specific communicative strategy? Where is it found?
Rhythm refers to a clear repetition of elements. Alternating repetition is when similar elements are repeated in a clear alternating manner, a rythm of alternating repetition
Discussing content: What does it communicate
This image has a calm and relaxing vibe. It communicates no stress. Alternating repetition can be found in the shape of the waves, in the size of the palm trees, in the size and shae of the stars. The alternating shapes and sizes of the elements leads makes the path along the composition much more softer and it makes the viewer to slowly cruise their eyes across the composition. The sea makes a lot of contrast in this picture and in my opinion, it is one of the principal elements that makes the calm and relaxing vibe happen just because it feels flowing even though is a print. Also the lines drawn in the sand have alternating repetition allowing the eye a smoother journey. It also helps to give the idea of movement because of the changing curvilinear shapes. The picture definitely makes me travel in time and picture myself at the beach with no worries, enjoying every single moment of the sunset.
