ART101 B —Apparel design: Rhythm: alternating repetition
Describing FORM: What is the specific communicative strategy?
Where is it found?
When similar elements are repeated in a clear alternating manner, a rhythm of alternating repetition occurs. We see this in the image as the jackets the models are wearing alternate.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate? When an image has an alternating repetition it engages the viewer and allows a softer and less jarring look across the image. In this case it eases the viewer into seeing these high-end jackets. The jackets are very classy and sophisticated, but the alternations allow them to feel more relatable and comfortable, as if you too could wear them. This makes the viewer feel empowered as if they too can look as classy as them.
