PRINCIPLE – RHYTHM: Progressive Rhythm
Describing FORM: What is the specific communicative strategy? Where is it found?
Rhythm refers to a clear repetition of elements. A strong rhythm produces the look and feel of movement, allowing our eye to jump or travel easily from one object to the next. Progressive rhythm is created when similar elements are repeated in a clear, gradually changing manners. We can see that happen in the lights that comes from the ceiling.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
The lights in the picture gives us a sense of relief since it is clearly used for guidance and navigation. At the same time, it creates a sense of mystery and darkness from what to expect in that direction.
