Rhythm refers to a clear repetition of elements. A strong rhythm produces the look and feel of movement, allowing our eye to jump or travel easily from one object to the next.

Alternating Repetition is found when similar elements are repeated in a clear alternating manner.
It is found in the crescent shapes going down the side of the structure towards/away from the mouth like entrance.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
Repetition is used to draw the eye towards specific points or objects. The repetition here was probably used to guide players to enter the building though to me the crescent shapes look like they are telling you there is danger in the center and to go around either side. Even with the brighter colors it still seems unsettling and creepy.
