PRINCIPLE – HUMAN SCALE: EXAGGERATED SCALE
Describing FORM: What is the specific communicative strategy? Where is it found?
Scale is the relative size of an object. We tend to determine whether an object is small or large by comparing it to ourselves, the human figure.
Human scale is the size of an object relative to the size of our body. Without a human figure present, we are uncertain to the size of objects.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
Exaggerating the size of the main character in Little Nightmare by making her much smaller than the villains is giving the player a sense of weakness. It also makes the villains feel more horrifying and powerful.
