Creating the illusion of space by overlapping is achieved by representing objects in the foreground as overlapping the objects in the background.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
The overlapping in the picture gives us a more realistic feeling of the waves moving forward. One set of waves would have felt flat and doesnt create emotions in the same way. The waves shapes into horses reminding of raging water, a place to stay away from if possible.
The art itself are ment for surfboards, objects used to ride some of the worst waves in the world.
