Illusion of space – Eye Level View
Describing FORM: What is the specific communicative strategy?
Where is it found?
An eye-level view occurs when we are looking straight on at an object. In an eye-level view, our eyes are level with the horizon line. In this image you make direct eye contact with the man who is dancing in the middle of the image.
Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
In this ad, you can tell that everyone in the image is having a good time. The way Gucci used this eye level view to connect the consumer with the people in the ad is very smart. If they would have had a bird's eye view or even a worm's eye view, you would feel very disconnected. However, the eye level view connects the consumer and you feel as if you are actually there with them dancing. The ad feels very high energy and fun, and you can tell that Gucci was trying to communicate that this line is made for the fun spirited.
