Proximity is an aspect of the Gestalt Theory that occurs when separate objects look as if they belong together based on their proximity to one another. The objects here are unrelated, however because of their close-edge relationship, appearance of touching and overlapping, we see the composition as a unified group before we focus on the individual objects themselves. Discussing CONTENT: What does it communicate?
In this image, the proximity does a great job of uniting the model with the flowers. The flowers are not only on her dress, they also surround her. However, she too is also a flower, she is blossomed and confident. Looking in her eyes, you can see she is bold and sure of herself. The unity of the image makes the viewer feel elegant, yet confident.
